Edible Gardens Open Day – Sunday 5th July 2015

Edible Gardening HT-1On Sunday 5th July, we will be hosting our popular Edible Gardens Open Day, this year it will be based in the picturesque Wolds village of High Toynton.  At midday visitors will have the unique opportunity to be shown around Field Farm, on the Spilsby Road, by Richard Smith.  This is a small mixed farm run on organic principals.  There is also a farm shop.  Home made soup and salads will be served afterwards at The Thatched Cottage in The Yurt, cost £5 for the package.  Booking is essential – please phone 01507 526591 or email transitiontownhorncastle@hotmail.com.

In the afternoon many edible gardens will be open on Gravel Pit Lane, High Toynton, including another small farm, a garden run on permaculture principals and wild garden. There will be talks and the gardens will be signposted from 1 pm to 5 pm.  Delicious home made refreshments will be served in The Yurt at The Thatched Cottage, all afternoon.  Free Entry to all gardens in the afternoon.

High Toynton (LN9 6NN) is a tiny picturesque village only one mile east of Horncastle, off the main A158, perched high in the Wolds, it has a small church, with a special wildflower meadow, thatched cottages and friendly inhabitants who look forward to welcoming you.
