The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations are fast approaching. The Town Council has agreed to take the lead and Transition Town Horncastle is involved.
We are taking part in the Parade of Floats on Saturday 2 June which starts at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School on West Street at 10.30 am. The Parade will continue through the town centre and culminate at The Stanhope Hall on Boston Road at 11.30. Judging will have taken place and prizes will be awarded by Ricky Valance, followed by a presentation to the winners of the Jubilee Mug Design by Mrs Gail Dymoke. Light refreshments will be available at The Stanhope Hall.
We will be showing the latest film about the Worldwide Transition Movement on Saturday 2 June at 7 pm in The Stanhope Hall with FREE ENTRY. “In Transition 2.0 is an inspirational immersion in the Transition movement, gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. You’ll hear about communities printing their own money, growing food, localising their economies and setting up community power stations. It’s an idea that has gone viral, a social experiment that is about responding to uncertain times with solutions and optimism. In a world of increasing uncertainty, here is a story of hope, ingenuity and the power of growing vegetables in unexpected places”.
After the film we will celebrate with local musicians, refreshments and the opportunity for discussion or just enjoy the company.
