On Sunday 27 June we had two stalls at Horncastle Summer Fair. One stall concentrated on Transition Horncastle and had a lot of interest from locals, we also gave away glasses of homemade elderflower cordial which were very popular, especially as it was a hot, sunny day and by the time people had got down to the end of Bridge Street they were very thirsty! But people were also interested to discover that elderflower cordial is easy and very cheap to make with much fewer food miles (only the sugar) and much tastier than similar commercial makes in the supermarkets. If anyone would like the recipe please let us know on this blog.
Green Streets had the adjacent stall which was hosted by Robin from British Gas and Jenny Davey. They also had a lot of interest especially as they had lots of freebies and a competition.

It was a most lovely day for the fair, and the TT stall was well stocked with all of the relevant info. However, it was situated too far from the centre of the Fair. As TT is such an important part of the community now, it is such a shame that the stall was on the outside, as it were, looking in! It took us a while to find it and on such a hot day, I wonder if this deterred some people from visiting it? Also, with the absolute din coming from the stall opposite, it was really hard to hold conversations. I really that the person who is responsible for the market, will allocate the TT stall a more favourable positions at future events!
