Horncastle free from Plastic Bags?

Horncastle free from Plastic Bags?

Maybe sometime soon, Horncastle can follow the example of places like Modbury and become totally plastic bag free. Do please look at the two short videos on this link, if you need any more convincing on the hell of plastic.
Plastic does not bio-degrade, it only breaks down into smaller and smaller toxic pieces.
Plastic can last up to 1,000 years in the environment - every piece of plastic that has ever been made is still out there!
Plastics are poisoning the soil, rivers and oceans and killing millions of creatures, from seals and whales, to gulls and albatross.
The plasticizers that are used to cover plastic resin, have been shown to be carcinogenic.
Plastics get into the food chain, so we also ingest them too.
For more facts and inspiration, look at the Modbury Plastic Free Town site. There are lists of suppliers who  provide alternatives to plastic bags. As well as information on how to set about organising and changing your town!
