Rob Hopkins visited Horncastle on Thursday 18 July as part of his Transition Thursday tour.  Transition Horncastle and Louth came together to bid for his visit and he chose us out of 26 transition towns to visit!  We held the day in Horncastle because it was nearer Metheringham station, Rob had arrived in Metheringham after a long train journey from Totnes.

We started the day at 2 pm up at High Toynton in the Wolds.  After chatting to us in Ali Bell’s Yoga Studio, we walked down the lane, visiting the wildflower meadow in the church on the way, and had a shared meal at Polly’s Yurt.

In the evening Rob came to the Stanhope Hall and talked about ideas that he has put in his new book “The Power of Just Doing Stuff”.  We then broke off into themes of Energy, Food and Transport to think up new ideas for our community to work together more efficiently in these changing times.
