On Saturday 2 October, Transition Town Horncastle held a very successful Skills Sharing event in Horncastle Community Centre.  The idea for the event was to learn and revive forgotten skills that could help us all in an uncertain future and save us money. There were a great many visitors and people came from as far as Grimsby to take part in the amazing diversity of skills on offer including Preserves, Bean Sprouting ,Knitting, Crochet shopping bags , Natural Cleaning,  Making Cosmetics, Recycling, Rag Rugs, working with a Peg Loom and Spinning wool.  Alison Bell gave a breadmaking workshop and demonstrated how to make a simple and delicious  wholemeal loaves.  Pauline had her receipe book on sale which included ecological ideas as well as recipes.  There was a display and information on Climate Change and Kenny Bell offered shoulder massages to all stall holders and visitors.  The cake stall, refreshments and raffle made over £60 for Transition Town Horncastle.  Many thanks to all the stall holders who shared their knowledge and expertise.
