Transition Books donated to Horncastle Library

To mark our First Birthday, Transition Town Horncastle recently donated some books relating to The Transition Movement to Horncastle Library.

The books will be put on a Transition/Climate Change related display and then be available to borrow by users of the Library.

The books are:

The Transition Handbook: From Oil Dependency to Local Resilience by Rob Hopkins

Local Food: How to Make it Happen in Your Community by Tamzin Pinkerton and Rob Hopkins

The Transition Timeline: For a Local, Resilient Future by Shaun Chamberlin

Looking back over our amazingly successful year we have had some major achievements including, winning The British Gas Green Streets Competition, which has brought £140,000 for three community buildings .  Energy saving renewables using the latest technology will shortly be installed. The Green Streets group have been busy organising may awareness raising events.  We have also shown free  films about climate change and peak oil at Horncastle College.  A successful Permaculture group has been running since the spring.  We have hosted informative and popular stalls at the Summer and Christmas fairs and, of course, this informative website.
