Green Babies and Toddlers – End of Project Celebration is a great success!

Green Babies and Toddlers – End of Project Celebration is a great success!

A lovely morning was had by all at the coffee morning and party to mark a year of the Green Babies and Toddlers project.

Children were kept entertained with a treasure hunt, story telling, songs and games, and face painting – there were lots of takers from amongst the 25 families who have been taking part in the project, as well as many others.

There was a little ceremony where project organisers were able to thank those who’ve been involved, and British Gas presented the team leader, Jenny Davey, with flowers and champagne.  Transition Town Horncastle recognised her efforts with me a beautiful apple tree – most apt!

The mayor, councillors, British Gas Green Streets project manager and boss, sustainability officers from County and ELDC and the Energy Saving Trust were all there to help celebrate, as well as representatives from the community buildings.  There were stalls giving energy saving and generating information, handmade crafts, as well as Love Food Hate Waste, giving out recipes and freebies.  A raffle and refreshments made nearly £100 for Transition Town Horncastle.
