Horncastle Summer Festival & Fair Sunday 12 June 2011

Transition Town Horncastle will have a stall at the Festival on Sunday.  We will be selling plants, cakes and preserves as well as selling raffle ticket for an amazing eco prize AND everyone buying a ticket will be given a free eco light bulb, whilst stocks last, so hurry along and buy your tickets early.  We will also have more information about our new garden share scheme.

Star attraction at the Festival is the final of the Horncastle Talent Contest from 1 pm – 3 pm in the Market Place when 6 local acts that have made it through the heats will compete in the final to win a cash prixe of £100.

Banovallum Brass Junior Band will kick of proceedings at 11 am and the Young Stagers will be performing at lunch time.  Other attractions during the day will be Punch and Judy, minature train rides and face painting.

There will be a large variety of stalls lining the High Stree, Bull Ring, Bridge Street and the Market Place (all these roads will be closed for the duration) and there will also be stalls in the Community Centre and Manor House Street along with refreshments provided by the WI.   The Lions will be laying on their usual BBQ and it is expected that many of the town’s food outlets are other shops will be open for the day.

The festival is being organised by a joint committee led by the Town Council and if it is as successful as hoped then the Council will consider taking on the Christmas Market as well.
